Hello Lybrate user swelling in the lower limbs can be due to anemia, kidney problems, heart related problems, liver related problems etc but in your case as you are saying that veins are visible, it can be due to varicose veins. Arthritis - Causes And Risk Factors!

Inflammation or swelling can be caused due to body's natural response to injury or disease. And arthritis is a disease in which the joints in your body swell. The inflammation or swelling can cause discomfort in the form of pain, stiffness as well as difficulty in movement.

Some of the common causes of arthritis are:

  1. Infections in the joint.
  2. Genetic makeup in which arthritis can be a hereditary trait
  3. Imbalance in the immunity system
  4. Physically taxing work life or injuries caused in an accident

Risk factors associated with arthritis:

  1. Obesity - Excess weight can put a lot of pressure on the joints, on the knees and hips in particular. Hence, obese people have more chances of developing arthritis than fitter people.
  2. Age - The risk of arthritis can increase with age. Types like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout are more common in the old age.
  3. Joint injury - Joint injury caused due to accidents or due to sports activities can trigger arthritis. People with previous joint injuries can develop arthritis in that joint.
  4. Family history - You can be prone to develop arthritis if it runs in the family. It can occur due to its hereditary trait hence making you more vulnerable to the environmental factors which contribute to developing arthritis.
  5. Gender - Your sex is an important factor as women are more likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis while men are prone to suffer from gout.

Tips to deal with arthritis:

  1. Take Vitamins and olive oil: Vitamins are crucial, especially A, C and D. Vitamin A can be found in carrots. vitamin D can yet again be found in fish while vitamin C can be found in strawberries, mangoes, pineapples and oranges. Olive oil is also useful because it contains polyphenols which reduce the chances of developing arthritis.
  2. Control your weight: This is very important, especially for your knees. It has been proven by researchers at John Hopkins University that if you are 10 kg overweight, then 30 to 60 extra kilograms of weight fall on your knees.
  3. Take Omega-3 fatty acids: Research proves that the regular consumption of Omega-3 fatty acids, present in fish, result in decreased risks of rheumatoid arthritis. Omega-3 fatty acids are also found in foods such as olive oil and walnuts.

You need to ask your attending physician why did he advise dicaris. As per that you write, I couldn’t find any reason. A person can ease the symptoms of cervical spondylosis with a few simple neck exercises. 1. Neck stretch Keep your body straight. Push your chin forward in a way that stretches the throat. Softly tense the neck muscles. Hold this for 5 seconds. Return your head to its center position. Push your head back with the chin held high, and hold for 5 seconds. Carry out 5 repetitions. 2. Neck tilt Tilt your head forward so that the chin touches the chest. Softly tense the neck muscles. Hold this for 5 seconds. Return the head to a neutral position. Carry out 5 repetitions. 3. Neck tilt (side-to-side) Lean your head down towards either shoulder, leading with the ear. Softly tense the neck muscles. Hold this for 5 seconds. Return your head to the center and repeat on the other shoulder. Carry out 5 repetitions. 4. Neck turn Turn your head to one side as far as it remains comfortable, being sure to keep your chin at a level height. Tense your neck muscles for 5 seconds. Return the head to a central position. Repeat on the opposite side. Repeat this exercise 5 times on each side. These exercises can help to moderate the impact of the condition and alleviate pain or feelings of stiffness. However, they will not cure cervical spondylosis. There are several reasons for clicking sound in TMJ, like clenching your teeth, which puts a lot of pressure ,Arthritis in the joint, Injury to your jaw, the joint, or the muscles of your head and neck etc. You can follow some instructions; Avoid extreme jaw movements, Avoid hard, crunchy foods, chewy foods, and large bites that require you to open wide. Eat soft food. Don't rest your chin on your hand or apply direct force on TMJ. Make an appointment with your dentist for clinical examination and medication.

I had got engaged to my fiancée 6 months back through family arrangement like most people in India. I never had any kind of prior relationships. At that time, I was told by her family member that she had a previous family arranged engagement for 3 days and she left the boy as the boy was flirting with other girls. The girl also said that she never trusted him, never liked him nor was emotionally attached to him. So thinking the girl never had emotional relation/physical relationship to her ex [ for me physical relationship was only possible after emotional relationship], I said yes for this relationship. A month after I realized that there was something fishy as girl during our conversations brought this topic that she was devasted even after her breakup, I couldnt figure out why she was speaking like that since she had said she wasn't emotionally attached nor did like that boy. After someday, I felt love with her because of our regular conversations. After asking her why did she feel bad because of her 3 day breakup, she said it was a 4 month relationship. Still, I thought it was ok as people take time to break relationships even when they are not emotionally attached. But one day, I was just joking to her that I will not let her kiss me as I didn't knew how she kissed, and asked her whether she kissed before. To which she said yes and she said she made out with her ex multiple times since her ex insisted her. She said she didn't have sex, but for me this was devastating as her physical relation with her ex made me feel extremely hurt and shattered and felt cheated. [She had said to me previously that she would think 100 times even before kissing anyone even if the person was her fiancée. She said she will not even change clothes in front of other girls as she felt shy then why did she allow him to remove her clothes? She said that she felt her soul and body were different when she was in physical relationship with him. I asked her where did this happen and she said it happened at her home, his car and his home] I got nightmares of them and it was painful. I tried to cope up a lot and could not and eventually I had to breakup and even after 2 moths still get nightmares and subconsciously I say in my mind that I love her few times a day and also abuse her in my mind why she did she have physical relationship with him. I want to come out of this but this almost happens everyday This has effected me tremendously, I even hate movies or ads which show any kind of physical intimacy.
