Hello Lybrate User, Don't worry, most people's hair turns grey or white as they age, it happens because the hair follicles cease to produce melanin, the pigment that gives hair its color. There many reasons behind premature graying of hair or white hair, such as heredity, vitamin deficiencies, hormonal changes, smoking, stress, chemical hair products, some extrinsic factors such as climate, pollution and exposure to certain chemicals.These all are reasons behind premature graying of hair or white hair. Follow this tips to get rid from white hair - * Increase intake of vitamin B12 - your hair could be turning white due to a deficiency of vitamin B12. Eat foods that are rich in vitamin B12 are fish, meat, lamb, milk and milk products, cheese and eggs are good sources. * If you are having habit of smoking - quit smoking. * Eat food that rich in antioxidants - berries, grapes, green leafy vegetables and green tea are good sources of antioxidants. Here is home remedy that will help you with your problem - Curry Leaves - coconut oil + curry leaves. * Take a pan add coconut oil and heat it, once oil is heated up, add the curry leaves to it. Let the leaves temper for about 10 minutes. Allow this mixture to cool before straining. Massage with this curry leaves infused oil once a week to see results. Take care.

I am suffering from heel pain (right foot) since 5 months. My uric acid is normal. I had an xray taken on that was normal. Though I am a diabetic for 13 years but my sugar level is in normal limits since may 2015 as I have taken naturopathy treatment and regularly follow it. What is the reason behind the heel pain which doctor I should go for the treatment. Kindly suggest.

Requires detailed investigation and examination Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

I have pain in my right leg. Sometimes I can not put my weight on my right leg. Its very painful and I can not even move my leg if I stand or sit for long time. Is this cause of sciatica nerve pain. please suggest some remedy.

It might be sciatica. But sciatica is due to many causes like neuritis, lumbar disc diseases, obesity, injury, etc. You need to rule out the cause and then go for medication.

Simultaneously it is better to wear MCR chappals (micro cellular rubber) which will help to transfer the Plantar Fascitis weight evenly in the feet so that the weight will be completely felt in the heel area. You shall do contrast bath to relieve this pain. Contrast bath is nothing but keeping in one tub hot water (bearable heat) and in another tub cold water Ask your father to apply ice in the painful area which would definitely help to greater extent. If still the pain persists then it is better to keep TENS stimulation at one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics.

Segmental fractures are generally caused due to osteoporosis and or deficiency of vitamin D and calcium, your thyroid and diabetes may be contributing to this condition. Unfortunately this condition cannot be improved with exercise. You will need internal medication, Ayurvedic medicines usually are very effective in such conditions, it may take two to three months to facilitate union of fractures, Your condition seems to be such that needs personal consultation.

Static quadriceps and dynamic quadriceps, isometric quadriceps, all these are good exercise for strengthening of knee joint ,You can refer internet to know how these exercise are done, like static quadriceps is done by keeping a towel roll below your knee joint while sitting on a bed and then pressing the towel roll by your knee joint ,holding it for 10 secs and then release, do it for 10 times from each knee. If pain is more in your knee joint then first go to some nearby physio they will give you pain relief therapy and will teach you all exercises as well. Thanks all the best.

Best Summer Hair Care Regimen for Lifeless Hair

Summers can be the worst time of the year for your hair. Often we find people complaining about their hair getting sticky, tangled and unmanageable when the temperature rises. This can be due to the fact that the hair loses its moisture in the heat and often gets dry and lifeless. With the onset of summers, your hair care routine should also change according to the climate so that it is healthy and moisturized. Here are a few tips which you can follow in the summers to keep your hair healthy-

1. Cover your head - Cover your head with a hat or a scarf and protect it from direct sunlight. You can also wrap your head with a scarf before putting on the hat which will also protect your hair from getting tangled with the course material. Wearing a hat will keep your hair from getting dry and lifeless. Heat can damage your hair and give you split ends hence it is necessary to employ some level of protection.

2. Wash Often - Make sure your hair is getting the moisture it needs. Drink plenty of water as apart from keeping your body hydrated, your hair will also benefit from it. Shampooing every day can make your hair dry and frizzy so make sure that you oil and condition it regularly. Rinse your hair properly after a swim because the chlorine in the pool water can damage your hair. Clean your scalp while washing so that it stays healthy.

3. Opt for deep Conditioning - With the temperature rising, you must deep condition your hair at least once a month or once in two weeks depending on your hair type. Deep conditioning helps keep the moisture locked, strengthens your hair and prevents breakage and hair fall. Deep conditioning requires a plastic wrap which helps the conditioner to penetrate.

4. Wear Protective Styles - You can style your hair in a way which will keep it away from your face and neck and at the same time make you look presentable. You can try braids, topknots, buns, high ponytails, etc. These hairdos also help prevent unwanted breakage and tangling.
